As I think about the Olympics and how much I enjoy the competitive spirit and allegiance to America, I can't help but think about all that the athletes have gone through to get there. What became clear to anyone watching this summer's Olympics, was the incredible preparation, commitment as well as sweat and blood it takes to be great and stand out among the competition.

As we welcome back to school time, we should each consider refreshing ourselves through education. The opportunities are plenty and their quality is high. For many, the regimen of optometry school education has ended. We must continue to seek all that will optimize our performance.
