Easy Tools to Run Social Media Contests People Love

What is a social media contest? It’s a fun, proven way to obtain certain results for your business by running a contest for a prize on social media channels. Results include boosting your brand awareness, increasing the number of followers on Facebook and Instagram, encouraging community engagement, increasing user-generated content and learning more about your patients and customers through surveys.
Before you run a social media contest, make sure you’re clear on the results you want to obtain. Most independent practices want to grow the number of followers on Facebook and Instagram, so running a social media contest is a great way to achieve that result. Shortstack is another easy to use tool many business owners and brands use to run social contests, particularly on Facebook. You can run a contest, quiz, giveaway or even a landing page using Shortstack. Shortstack has templates (I love templates!) based on the type of social contest you want to run. You can start using Shortstack for free! The basic plan is suitable for most independently owned eyecare practices, and it’s $29.00 per month.
Wishpond is another great, easy to use tool to run social contests – and more. Wishpond is a more robust online marketing tool because it allows you to create customized landing pages for your contests which can grow inbound traffic to your practice website. There are photo contests, Instagram hashtag contests, voting contests, referral promotions and more! You can easily track metrics in real-time if you want to optimize the performance of your contest in real-time. The basic plan is $45.00 per month but it offers more tools for your online marketing than the other two social contest tools I mentioned, so it’s worth reviewing.
