CHILDREN’S EYE PROTECTION
While adults are well aware, or have the opportunity to be well aware, of their need for eyewear protection, children are less so and their parents may not necessarily be thinking about where their kids sunglasses are when they cannot locate their own. Take the opportunity on your Instagram to highlight cute kids and your optical offerings of sunglasses.
For download are a mix of approaches for how to do so, from presenting facts to popular culture references. Choose which is right for you and the tone you’d like to set or try them out and see which get more engagement. In the caption, include information that your consumers should look for in their sunglasses to ensure their protection. And finally, make sure to include a call to action to visit your e-commerce site or stop in at the practice to view styles you carry.
Observances: National Safety Month
AOA LISTS JUNE AS NATIONAL SAFETY MONTH. The occasion is an opportunity to raise awareness for saving lives and preventing injuries. Given the active coronavirus laying claim to patients around the globe, it’s a good time to ease your patients fears and frustrations and communicate with them via social media on how you plan to address issues of safety for patients and staff in your office. Are you: offering telehealth appointments (bit.ly/3cmfFn0 ) or face masks to all patients who enter (bit.ly/2xVCWNJ )?
Ways to share these steps with your patients could be listed in a brief video that is posted to your social media or schedule a succession of posts with steps you’re taking.
There are many facets to safety, so don’t forget to highlight them as well: UV protection (see "Children’s Eye Protection”) and protective eyewear both professionally and recreationally. (Consider an increase in water sports during the summer.) Brief, 1- to 3-minute educational videos, photos of your offerings and facts are usually good ways to approach observance months.
