ABB Optical Group announced it will be the exclusive distributor of Performance Vision Technologies, (PVTI) Performance-Tinted Single-Use Soft Contact Lenses under the brand name ALTIUS. The lens is designed to allow athletes and recreationists, who may or may not need vision correction, to perform with visual comfort, clarity, and quickness under wide-ranging environmental conditions.

CooperVision introduced MyDay daily disposable multifocal contact lenses. The lenses feature an 8.4 mm base curve, 14.2 mm diameter, and a power range from +8.00 D to -10.00 D (in 0.25 D steps) and -10.50 D to -12.00 D (in 0.50 D steps). The three ADD powers are low (+0.75 D to +1.25 D spectacle prescription ADD), medium (+1.50 D to +1.75 D spectacle prescription ADD) and high (+2.00 D to +2.50 D spectacle prescription ADD). Additionally, oxygen transmissibility (Dk/t) at -3.00 D is 100 x 10, and the lenses offer 85% UVA and 96% UVB blocking.

Eschenbach Optik of America, introduced the Vario Digital 22 FHD, its new foldable and transportable desktop video magnifier. The device features an easy-to-use interface, compact design, and includes features such as a 21.5-inch full HD monitor with optical/digital zoom, and an increased magnification range of 1.6x-100x. The magnifier offers a wide-screen format of 16:9 and a tilting camera provides a large viewing area.

ADDED TESTING MODALITIES
Heru’s re:Vive 2.0, a wearable gamified diagnostic solution, added three new testing modalities: color vision exam (CPT 92283), contrast sensitivity, and dark adaptation (CPT 92284). Akorn Eye Care acquired the exclusive distribution rights from Blythe Medical for AcellFX (acellular amniotic membrane), an HCT/P (human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based product) intended for homologous use, providing protection, or covering in ocular surface repair. The small, thin, membrane is air-dried without harsh chemicals, and ready to use without thawing or rinsing.

Transitions Optical introduced a new version of the Virtual Try-On (VTO) that allows users to see themselves in different Transitions lens colors and frame styles. The updated VTO features a new interface and the “Get Advice” feature, which delivers a frame and lens recommendation using face shape recognition and questions about the user.
