BioTissue has appointed Rocco Venezia, CPA, as chief financial officer, succeeding Mike Cornelius, who is retiring after 13 years with the company.
Venezia joins BioTissue from Intercept Pharmaceuticals, where he most recently served as CFO and was responsible for finance operations, strategic planning, capital management, and financial transformation initiatives. During his 10 years with Intercept, Venezia held several leadership positions, including corporate controller, before becoming CFO.
Over the course of his career, Venezia has led fundraising efforts totaling more than $1.3 billion and supported initial public offering and merger and acquisition transactions. Before joining Intercept, he held finance and accounting leadership positions at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and KPMG. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Kean University.
In announcing his appointment, Venezia said he plans to work with the company’s leadership team to support its continued growth and long-term development.
