Lumibird Medical has introduced the Integre Lio, a wireless integrated laser indirect ophthalmoscope (LIO) system. The device, marketed under the Quantel Medical brand, is designed to support the growing patient population in retinal care by providing mobility and portability to streamline practice workflows and enhance efficiency for ophthalmologists performing panretinal photocoagulation and other peripheral retinal treatments, according to a company press release.
Integre Lio eliminates all cables, featuring a completely wireless headset and foot pedal for mobility in the operating room or clinic. The system is powered by a true green 532-nm diode-pumped solid-state photocoagulation laser. Its patented lightweight design integrates the 532-nm laser and battery pack into a compact, ergonomic headset intended to improve physician comfort during extended procedures, according to the company.
Among the system's features are the Imprint Heads-Up Display, which projects real-time power settings into the physician's field of view, and the Advanced Smart Footswitch, which enables hands-free adjustment of laser settings through an integrated display.
The Integre Lio received FDA 510(k) clearance in February 2026 for retinal photocoagulation, and is available in the United States through Lumibird Medical. OM
