Haag-Streit USA announced the US launch of 2 new ophthalmic innovations, the Elara 900 and the Refractor 900. 

The Elara 900 slit lamp is designed to support ophthalmic diagnostics. It provides enhanced visualization of fine ocular structures and customized examination “presets” for height and magnification controls, as well as an optional dual camera for imaging and video, all of which improve efficiency, according to a company-issued press release. The press release adds that the design of the Elara’s oculars, headrest, and controls are ergonomic, comfortable, and ideal for high-volume use.

The Refractor 900 is a digital phoropter. It features ultra-fast lens changes, 1/8 diopter adjustments in sphere and cylinder, and real-time video imaging for accurate vertex distance measurement, according to Haag-Streit. The device also supports customizable refraction sequences, secure Electronic Health Record connectivity, multi-device compatibility, and direct control of vision testing tools like the Acuity Chart 900.OM
