Optometry Divas will celebrate its 10th anniversary on July 26, 2025, by launching 2 major initiatives: the All-White Dinner Banquet Fundraiser and the 2025 Educational Retreat. Under the theme "A Decade of Focus," the anniversary highlights the organizations’s decade-long mission to promote gender equity, professional development, and global outreach in optometry.
Scheduled for July 26, 2025, the All-White Dinner Banquet Fundraiser will support Haitian optometry students who face disrupted clinical training due to regional unrest. Proceeds will fund clinical rotations at L’Université de Montréal. The event, held in Orlando, will include dinner, an auction, and an appearance by Raquel Pélissier, first runner-up of Miss Universe 2016.
“Investing in these students secures global eye health and cultivates the next generation of optometry leaders,” said Dr. Lauretta Justin, founder of Optometry Divas, in a press release.
Also taking place in Orlando, the 2025 Educational Retreat will run from July 26 to 27 and offer 16 continuing education (CE) credits. Topics will include:
- AI in eye care
- Gene therapy applications
- Smart contact lens technology
The retreat is designed to help optometrists grow as clinicians and leaders. As it enters its second decade, Optometry Divas remains focused on fostering leadership, innovation, and global collaboration in the field of optometry.
