Bio: Bernadette Mazurek Melnyk, PhD, APRN-CNP, EBP-C, FAANP, FNAP, FAAN, is a nationally recognized expert and speaker on health and well-being. She oversees Optometric Management’s “Cultivating Self-Care” column, which provides health and well-being support for eye care professionals. Her work in the column focuses on health care workforce burnout, resiliency, self-care, mental health, and lifestyle behaviors that can reduce chronic disease risk. She has contributed to discussion of burnout among optometrists, including work from her team examining burnout symptoms in optometrists across the country.
